Air Force Marathon Volunteer Registration
The Air Force Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, September 18, 2021. Many volunteers are needed! Volunteers can begin registering by going to Public Service Events are great training opportunities for emergency communications. For a detailed list of Public Service Events, see the District 3 website.

Ohio NVIS Day 2021 was held Saturday, April 24, from 10AM until about 1PM EDT. Greene County ARES operated as W8GCA at Walnut Grove Park in Beavercreek. With four radios and four antennas (all on emergency battery power), we were able to contact the State EOC in Columbus (the "Sarge", W8SGT) as well as other operators in northeast Ohio on 80 meters. Great training for emergency operations when we need to send messages to the State EOC over HF. A fun morning for everybody with a great turnout!

Covid-19 Update
The Greene County EMA Director has indicated that there is no need at the current time for Emergency Communication assistance. However, she indicated that she would request GCARES assistance if needed as the situation develops. A HyperReach alert will be sent if GCARES help is needed.
