Weather

Since Greene County has had several experiences with severe weather, GCARES strongly recommends Skywarn weather spotter training. For more information about Skywarn training, go to the Skywarn Training Schedule.

During Severe Weather Awareness Week every March, GCARES often participates in a county-wide tornado drill. The Greene County XWARN weather net is normally activated during the drill. All GCARES members who are available at the time are asked to check-in. It is important for us to know how many people are available during the work day and how well they can hit the repeater from their locations. Click here for more information on the weather nets.
