Do you want to obtain an FCC amateur radio license? The Bellbrook Amateur Radio Club (BARC) is offering entry-level Amateur Radio license classes starting Sunday, September 22, 2024. The Technician license classes will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. each Sunday through November 17th. A test for all classes of licenses will be given November 24th at 6 p.m. by the Greene County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (GCARES). There is no charge for the class and Morse Code is no longer required to obtain any amateur radio license.
The entry-level Technician class is held at the BARC Clubhouse, Room 1, former Sugarcreek Elementary School, 51 South East Street in Bellbrook. No experience is required and there is no minimum age required to earn a Technician class license. To register for the class, you may email Paul Sharp at psharp1@woh.rr.com.

If you already have an FCC-issued Technician license for amateur radio, and you want to obtain a higher- level General Class license, free classes will be held soon. The Greene County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (GCARES) will offer General Class upgrade sessions on Sundays from 4pm to 6pm starting on September 22nd through November 17th. Classes will be held in Beavercreek at a location to be announced. Extra Class upgrade sessions may be offered if there is sufficient interest.
